UNTIL NOW!!!!
Now when I'm fighting with my husband and feel like hitting him over the head with a frying pan, I can actually do it and not just fantasize about doing it.
And I owe it all to Wabi Sabi, a new Japanese restaurant that just opened in Daybreak (South Jordan) Utah.
The sushi is insanely delicious as well. I bet the emperor of Japan himself doesn't eat food this good.
And I'm not just saying this because my brother owns this restaurant. I'm saying this IN SPITE of my brother owning this restaurant.
Remember that jerk who left a gift-wrapped pile of dog poop in my room?
Same guy.
He's a punk but he sure knows how to hire genius chef wizards.
All of the sauces, dressings and marinades are made from scratch. Really, they don't use any pre-made, bought-from-the-asian-section-of-walmart bottled stuff. This is unique and authentic miracle food we're talking about, exclusively at Wabi Sabi.
And don't forget to bring the kids. Studies have shown that trendy kids who eat sushi are more likely to become awesome when they grow up.

Another perk unique to Wabi Sabi is the sweet upstairs lounge area that can be reserved for large parties. Celebrate your birthday, your softball team's victory, or your softball team's defeat in style.
It's also a great place to host blog parties.
REALLY!
Let's have one there!
So come on down to 11274 Kestrel Rise Road Suite B South Jordan, UT, 84095
Tell them Mary sent you and get a free confused look from your waitress.

Holy cow this food is good!
Literally, HOLY COW- the beef is so good you'll start worshiping cows after your fist bite!

We used to have Japanese exchange students who lived with us, during jr. high and high school. They clearly hated me, because they made me eat umi boshi, and rice with seaweed flakes. I am now boycotting all things Japanese. Except for you.
Wish I were in the area. I'd drop by for sure. Sushi is one of my favorite things!
=)
PS. We have some pretty good sushi here in the Bay area, though not as good as your brother's, of course.
Kristina- We used to have Japanese exchange students stay with us too. They never made us eat anything but when my little brother walked in on one of them taking a bath he shouted "DANGER- DANGER!"
But really this food is awesome, you don't have to order anything with tentacles, they have other choices too, like kobe beef burgers!
Sue- you don't have to be so nice, he is my mean brother, remember. :)
I'm hungry. Count me in.
This post is hilarious! But in all seriousness, that food sounds SOOO good. Does he make any "Princess" sushi? Those little rolls with cooked salmon stuck to the top? And cream cheese and avocado in the middle??? yummy, yummy... *sigh*
Pray that Casey is nice to me this week. If not, I'll have to find some lame single guy to take me to your brother's restaurant.
Z- Order the ribs, trust me!
And if you're honestly going, let me know when so I can go too, I'd love to meet you.
Carrie- Of course, sushi isn't sushi without cream cheese.
Casey, be nice to Katie! Don't let a lame guy take her out to dinner, he'll probably put the chopsticks under his upper lip and start barking like a walrus.
If we get to Utah, I'll take my husband there. He misses the food in Japan.
As long as you promise your brother won't provide any presents, I'll have a party there:)
Mmmmm.... I love Japanese food. And I would come to your blog party.
Mary! I'm so happy to find your blog again. For some reason I thought you moved to China and couldn't blog from behind the Great Wall.
Thanks for reminding me about "DANGER-DANGER!" How could I forget that?
Nate should pay you for this post or at least give you some free food.
You had me at Japanese restaurant.
Driving to Daybreak for me might as well be driving to Nebraska or something, it seems like its 1400 miles away from me.
but, next time I decide to take a road trip, I'll definitely check it out!!
Mary, is the sushi as good as yours?
My favorite is your spam, cream cheese and cilantro. BEST SUSHI EVER!
Restaurants that are kid friendly are definitely my kind of place.
This makes me even more excited about living in Utah. He's going to think I'm extra cool when I say "my blogging friend Mary sent me here."
I fell in love with Sushi when we lived in HI!! Luckily we have a great local place called Bamboo, otherwise I would be having serious withdrawals!
Um, Kobe beef burgers? I'll have to tell my husband so he can blog about that in his burger blog. And I'll go there for the real food :)
I secretly wish that when I go, you will be the waitress giving me the confused look. Your brother does owe you, because seriously, I'm going and I'm bringing the whole fam!
Mei Hua, I want to meet you! I know your anonymity is precious but I just need to see if you are, in fact, Asian (I can tell just by looking).
