Christmas in July

I just beat my kids at Candy Land!
It's their own fault though. I warned them that when we get to Candy Land they better not just run around like mad eating everything in sight.
But do they listen?
Nope.

We moved to a new place last month, right across the street from an elementary school. The school serves free Summer lunch every weekday. Evan starts kindergarten next month and whenever I ask him if he's ready for school he says, "No, I don't want to go to school, I'm not hungry."

Z turned 27 last month. I laughed at him all day because he's so old now. But then I remembered that I'll be turning 27 this year too.
Dang it.

We went to see Toy Story 3 for his birthday. Holy wow, that movie is intense.
Evan couldn't really handle it, after that screaming monkey popped up on screen he didn't open his eyes again until the end credits rolled, and then right when he thought it was safe to look, EEK there's that monkey again.

I really enjoyed it though, except for the ending. I thought Andy should have saved the toys to give to his future kids. Instead he drops them into the ocean and they get captured by a scuba-diving dentist. And then Potato Head searches the entire ocean for them and makes sea creature friends along the way. I guess it wasn't a bad ending, I just feel like it's been done before.

I fell asleep in the middle of the show...not that it was boring...so I need to spend another 8 bucks to see the 30 minutes that I missed (but after your excellent review and sharing the ending with all of us, I might just buy 8 dollars worth of makeup now, thanks Mary!)

Well now I'm too scared to go see it! I wish a schoil would serve lunch around here. Figuring out meals stress me the hell out.

Did anyone get blown up in Toy Story? Was there gratuitous nudity? If not, I'm not interested.

BTW, we missed you at the CBC! :(

Free summer lunch? Why don't I live by that school?

Ha ha, Mary you crack me up (and it feels great, because I've been a little stiff lately...). Yay for free lunches - it sure beats what I do for lunch every day ("what, no left overs again? I guess it's time to break out the cold cereal..."). :)

The school across the street from our ward's chapel is doing the free lunch thing, too. The problem with living in the "mission field" is that our chapel is a twelve minute drive away--and even longer now since our road is under construction and we have to drive the long way around. It's too much trouble for a free lunch.

You're obviously overprotective. You chould let your children watch CSI and Criminal Minds so that they won't be phased by Toy Story 3.
My baby (your namesake) is starting kindergarten in September. It will be a sad day.

Hey thanks for telling me the ending. We are on our way to see Toy Story 3 right now. Not Noah's 1st choice, but we have 3 free passes
burning a hole in my purse. I won't let him see his 1st choice.

Please don't tell me he wants to see Eclipse, I'll punch him if he does.

HA! Well, thanks for telling me the ending. I can wait much easier for it to come to DVD. We don't go to the theater. I mean, have you SEEN the people that go there? They have **gasp** money, and well-behaved children! This is a crime. I just watch them at home, where its safe.

I haven't seen it, but everyone I know says they loved it, cried, etc. etc.

Good to see you back. I miss you when you go AWOL.

=)

We all like Toy Story 3 but that monkey is really scary!

Thanks for the warning Mary.
We all thought of Evan and laughed so hard, (in a heartfelt, compassionate way.)

No, Noah wanted to see either Prince of Persia (too late) or that Steve Carell cartoon one (Despicable Me?)

I really want to see Toy Story!

Alisha, I really try not to show my money when I go to a theater so I won't intimidate the peasants, but when I get a little warm sometimes I have no choice but to pull out some hundred-dollar bills and fan myself with them.

Oh jeez. These comments only add to this post!

I am so glad you told me the ending. I HATE waiting until the end.

Such cute kids :)

I liked Toy Story 3 because it discouraged toy hording under the excuse of future posterity.

Says the girl with at least 5 boxes of todays.

I'm such a hypocrite.

Except my Samantha doll. She is precious and will forever and always be mine :)
